After years of avoiding
discussion of the subject I finally agreed with my wife that it was time
to have our kitchen remodeled. This
decision was preceded by the failure and replacement of our microwave
several years ago, the replacement of our dishwasher about a year ago
and finally it became unavoidable after the simultaneous failure of
both our cook top range and oven.
We had Portola Custom Homes in mind to do the job since they had
done an excellent job in replacing our wooden decks several years ago. Through
PCH we worked with a cabinet supplier who helped us with the design
and layout.
Once those details were finalized we scheduled a time frame for the
work to begin with Bob and Dave and ordered the cabinets, fixtures
and appliances according to their work schedule.
PCH secured all the necessary permits, refined the design plan and
did a site layout so we could physically see the proposed plan. They
provided the electrical plan and scheduled all the subcontractors in
an efficient and timely manner.
Their preparation assured that no damage was done to the remainder
of the house during both the demolition and installation phases of
the project and the work was done neatly with as little disruption
to our lives as possible. This is not to say it was easy living
without the kitchen, but the end result was well worth the inconvenience.
I would recommend their work without hesitation or qualification."
